Dennis The Menace Park

Love going here with wifey. Just a nice fun playground.

Not far from where I live, I have spent many a childhood day at this park. It was once one of the most dangerous parks I have ever known – the large jump off the tail of the “airplane”, the spinning wing you had to jump onto at the right time or you would plummet to the ground, the loose rope bridge with low and flimsy hand railings, the train with nothing to hold onto if you slipped off, etc. It made the park more of an adventure.
Now, it has been childproofed and is held to the ridiculous safety standards that all things seem to be dumbed down to these days. Even so, the park is still fantastic and I couldn’t think of a better place to take the kids. The park is always full of other kids to play with and there’s a food stand nearby.
The train, rope bridge, maze, large slides, and dennis’ statue are classics.

My grandmother used to take my younger brother and I when we were little. It was always so much fun, and even once I got older, i still begged to go.
Now that I’m a mommy, I’m looking foreward to taking my litl one once she gets big enough. It will be well worth the drive :)

Best kid’s park around. Went there at five, now I take my little brothers there.
