Gig Harbor
Home sweet home
I grew up in Gig Harbor, and now that I don’t live there anymore (and haven’t for about three years) I miss it’s peaceful, yet modern appeal.

Gig Harbor is absolutely beautiful.
Park your car on the street by Tide’s and walk the street to the old ferry area. Great views of Pt Defiance and Vashon. From there walk around the harbor, past Anthony’s for some great views. Walk up the steps across from Anthony’s for a great place to take photos.
Food: Tide’s Tavern – great views from the deck

take the Pierce County bus route 100 from the Purdy Park’n’ride to Tacoma and it’ll take you basically anywhere in the downtown area. It also has a great view of the water.

My hometown. Contrary to what the poster says below, a lot of the town is located on Puget Sound. I live on a small island (Raft Island) off the coast of Gig Harbor and it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to.

Originally an old fishing village, Gig Harbor is now a destination for Washington travelers. A walkway along the waterfront offers tourists an easy stroll. Small shops line the main drag.
