I just found an apartment two blocks from Union Square. What a great place! A farmer’s market every other day, Whole Foods Market, Barnes and Noble, DSW, Barocco kitchen, the list goes on…
I’m going on a Big Onion walking tour of Union Square in just over a week.

Union Square is terrific. There is always a great buzz around this park, particularly on the south side. Skateboarders, protesters, students, artists, models, freaks, musicians, famous people, commuters, and people just waiting for friends all converge here. Even though a Whole Foods has opeend, don’t miss walking through the Farmers Market on Mondays/Wednesdays/Saturdays. Also in the Spring Time the bar in the mddle of the park is the best for happy hour. i love nyc

One of the places I frequent most and there is tons of shopping, book stores and not to mention my favorite book store and possibly favorite store in all the world – Strand {18 Miles Of Books}. Irving Plaza is right down the street on Irving Place, across the street from PC Richards, I have been to many a shows there and the old ballrooms are definitely the most fun places to see a good concert. There is a huge Barnes and Noble within the square that sometimes will get some pretty popular artist appearances and then of course there is Virgin Megastore…you can get lost inside there.
