Fantastic.

Everytime I mention to people that I want to visit JB, I always get the same answer,”it’s dangerous! You’ll get robbed/raped there!”.

And so I went. I went with a group of friends/classmates, and it was something I’m glad I did. We only went for one day, but all of us had a blast. We went shopping, ate all kinds of food, and I can still remember that plate of Nasi Lemak. I saw the people and how they lived, and all I can say is that time passes much much slower than when I’m Singapore, where there’s never a moment to relax.

I’ll definitely go back again next month, that’s for sure.

People may be scared of JB because of what’s been happening, but maybe they also forgot that life is short and you only live once. Why take in too much of what others say? Try it yourself, but of course with caution, and you’ll find it’s not as bad as people make it out to be.

The first time I went to this place

To get to Johor we took the bus up from Singapore. In retrospect it would have probably been faster to ride the train to the end of the line and then jumped on the bus there. That’ what most of the locals seemed to have done.

The bus takes you across the strait, through the border stations on both sides. Once you clear Malaysian immigration you find yourself in a world much different than Singapore. It’s dirty, congested and run-down. But in spite of all of that, it’s a fun place to visit. There are a lot of little shops in town, and a much stronger Muslim influence than you find in Singapore. I found it to be a nice place to visit overall, and an interesting contrast to the clean, orderly society one finds across the strait in Singapore.

What can I say about this place….Mmmm….I like the food, the location( for being so close to singapore where you can just cross the border and get some shopping done)...shopping here is great too but not as cheap as Kuala Lumpur and Penang( I guess is all depend on what you wanna buy) and I personaly think JB is a very different city compare to Kuala Lumpur and Penag.
