The first time I went to this place

My boyfriend grew up in Cody. We attended the wedding of one of his childhood friends. Her family rented out a huge cabin on the top of a mountain. There was no electricity so the reception ended with a huge bonfire. You can read by the starlight. It is incredible. One of our friends pointed out that if you look really carefully you can see satellites in their orbit around the earth. There is a rodeo every night of the week during the summer. The Buffalo Bill museum is actually worth checking out. But a rodeo is a must. Yellowstone is a short drive. GO! It is amazing.

A review of this place: I miss Cody

I am from the Midwest, but spent about 4 months living right outside of Cody a couple years ago. I loved the area so much, I would move back in a heartbeat!

Stay at Lockhart Inn

The Lockhart Inn is an absolutely FAB B&B in town. The owner, Cindy, is as nice as can be and will take good care of you. If you’re lucky you may even meet Ms. Lockhart – the resident ghost. She is a jokester and not mean in the least! She doesn’t reveal herself to everyone though.

The raft trip in the summer is great fun too. Visit the Irma Hotel/Restaurant. It was named after Buffalo Bill’s daughter. There is an exquisite bar in the restaurant that was sent over by the queen of England as a gift for Bill Cody.

Such a great place and I can’t wait to go back!

This was part of a family trip out West after my brother graduated from high school. Imagine: myself, my brother, mother, father, both grandmothers and their shared boyfriend. In a van. For two weeks.

Cody made it worth it.

Lots of outdoors stuff

Cody lies just outside of Yellowstone National Park, making it a good base of operation if you can’t get in-park lodging.
