Monte Carlo

certainly gigantic yachts and amazing views, and lots of flashy cars, not all of them Ferraris :)

I always thought (wrongly as it turns out) that Monte Carlo was a town inside Monaco, but now I realise that it’s one of its districts.

The casino is located here, as is the tourist office. If you’re getting the bus from Nice (number 100), then the bus stops for these 2 places are very close together.

Ferraris on every corner, gigantic yachts and stunning clifftop views.

I lived there a couple months in the summer of 06 and it is spectacular. If you can get into the beach club, it is a great palce to hang. There is a good pizza place if you are on Republique, go down the millions of stairs and youll see it on your left, I forgot the name but its in the same arena as the market, which takes place every morning. Id walk down those 400 steps everyday and it gives you quite the workout. At the palace de princeir (Spelling? Its the prince’s palace) in Monaco they have an open air theatre where they play movies every night on the cliff under the stars, cool way to meet people, or just go by yourself, catch a good flick and have an amazing few of the sea from the cliffs and the sky from the cliff top.

And I don’t say that lightly! It’s full of super-rich people with yachts in the marina and tourists who really can’t afford to do anything here. What do tourists actually do in Monte Carlo? I couldn’t figure it out. I got off the bus, walked around for an hour and got on the next bus back to Nice.

OMG I feel in love with this place! Sooo beautiful it’s breath taking! So clean and nice! You MUST go!

& couldn’t stay long enough to see it. so I know that we’ll be back!

I visited MOnte Carlo about a year ago, and it was an exciting day. First, i was travelling from NICE, and took a crowded train to MOnte Carlo. We were packed like sardines on that train. Anyways, we arrived in Monte Carlo and it was actually a day that they closed the streets to race. It was exciting viewing the race from the Palace of Monaco. It was beautiful.

...I tried to get into the casino wearing shorts! What was I thinking??? Anyway, it’s well worth the haul up the hill to the casino just come appropriately dressed, or you’ll find yourself having to do a quick wardrobe check.

Beyond the casinos, I’m sure you’ll find plenty to gawk at (the yachts in the harbor, the diamonds in the storefront windows, the endless stream of Ferraris buzzing by you). That’s all well in good, but IMHO, the best treat for the senses in found way up hill, on a nice perch, loosing yourself in the amazing view.
