Why I recommend this place to visitors

Mount Baker offers the best Snowboarding in all of Washington. They always have the most powder. Typically they have the deepest snow base of any place in North America (naturally). This is a snowboarder haven. There are some skiiers, but this is mainly a snowboarders mountain which is why I love to go as much as I possibly can. It’s only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Seattle (which most locals seem to think it’s farther)...not that I care it just mean more freshies for me. Baker is one of the least crowded mountains in Washington even on the weekends. Weekday boarding rawks though, it’s almost like you get the mountain to yourself.

Last Summer

I drove last summer to get driving experience before my drivers test, and had a great time! I’ve always grown up with Mount Baker being viseable from a bedroom window, or a local beach, but had never gone to it. Very warm in the summer, and amazing views of the glacier! Absolutely beautiful!

Depending on the snow conditions.

If the snow is deep, this is a great place to go boarding.

Mountain Climbing

This was my first and only mountain climbing experience. I was on a co-ed 7 day trip which culminated in climbing to the top of Mount Baker. We started climbing at 1:00 a.m. and finished around 2:00 p.m.

Hardest thing I ever did; I’m scared of heights. I probably will never do this again but I’m glad I did it. I was very proud of myself.
