Zakynthos aka: Zakinthos

I’ve been to Zakynthos many times – I have friends there. We especially like staying at the quieter end near Vasilikos. Take the day and drive around the island – lunch at the Cross Taverna on the west coast of the island is the best!

I went to Zante in June 2005 with some friends and it was a really nice place. This picture is of shipwreck cove, I went on a trip by boat and it really is that beautiful when you get there! The sea is crystal clear, great for snorkling as there are loads of hidden coves were the fish hide. We stayed in laganas while we were there which is great for clubbing and really cheap, there are loads of brilliant bars. I would recommend Zante to anyone it’s a really lovely place. It is a sin if you go and don’t visit shipwreck cove though.

Go to Tsilvi for a great town, great beach, great food and a good family holiday, ahhhhh!
Go to Kalamaki for a more relaxed holiday, ahhhhh!
Go to Laganas for whatever you want, oi oi!
Karaoke, nightclubs and fun, fun, fun!
Its not how old you are, its how young you feel!

time i went zakynthos was about 5 years, ago, only because we decided to have a change from marmars and go back to zakynthos.
it had changed a lot since i was there last. but it was still as nice as before.
but 2 week is just not enough lol.
iv got pictures somewear so will put them up later.

Plenty of sun cream.

Make sure you’ve got air conditioning in your room.

If you’re on the same part of the island I was on, get used to the endless stream of traffic on the main strip. Everything from bikes, quads, trikes, beach buggies and scooters .. it’s noisy!

However, I thought the nightlife was amazing!

I have read some interesting information about Zakinthos… like this: Zakinthos is the southernmost of seven islands of Ionian Archipelago. It has almost a triangular shape. The island attracts its guests with clean emerald sea, snow-white beaches, mountains treed with pinewood and with kind hospitality of inhabitants.
Zakinthos is one of two Greek national sea parks specially
created for protection of loggerhead turtles and rare rogue of mediterranean seals. It’s very possible here on one of these seasides to meet rare loggerhead turtles.

Nice place for a holiday, highlight was bumping into sea turtles while swimming.

Scorching sun, bright blue sea, white sand beaches, Zante is beautiful. There’s areas for night life, areas for chilling, areas for food, it’s a perfect island.

I took a ton of photographs the last time I was there, one of which I’ve included one with this entry.

Just for a weekend, to attend a wedding, but utterly worth it. It was everything a Greek Island holiday is supposed to be.
