Delphi

This place is beautiful and greek people are really friendly.
Worth visiting!

If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Delphi in September or October and are there an hour or so before closing time when all the tourists board their buses and speed off to Athens to dinner, you just might find that Delphi is one of the most peaceful places in the world.
Thick with history, it is a place where one can rest and reflect. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

A very special site – how many times have I read about the oracle at Delphi in Greek mythology?? The mountain setting is beautiful too. I did this as a day trip from Athens.

Came here on my last day in Greece and on the way back to Athens we stopped at some weird truckstop sort of place and I spent 50 euros on 2 Elena Paparizou cds. So worth it, both the cd’s and Delphi. Very nice, but a very long hike to the top.

we went to Greece on spring break this year [for class at my college] and it was pretty much amazing! but i have to say Delphi was my favorite part, i love all of the history that surrounds that place, the myths [belly-button of the world!] and how the whole oracle thing went on all those years ago! i’m so going back again :) i miss it!

WOW!! So much history nestled in some of the most gorgeous mountains you’ll ever see… can’t beat the sunsets around there, either!

Delphi is a beautiful place to visist! The Temple of Apollo is amazing. The town is so cute. i spent my last birthday there! stay overnight for sure and enjoy the kicked back night life.

The site is enclosed by a gate (don’t be dissuaded, it’s worth it) and closed at odd times. Be patient. Once you’re inside, let yourself wander and get lost. Make your way to the top of the hill in the high afternoon and sit in the shade in the amphitheatre there. Listen to the cicadas. (Tzitzikia, not to be confused with tzatzikia, which is delicious.)

Our night spent in Delphi, we went to a club, it was incredible, I had way to much to drink, but still the music, and people were awesome! and Then traveling to Old Delphi and the temple of apollo was amazing as well! So many good memories!

Anyway, it is understandable that ancient people would chose to build here. The one thing that sticks with me abolut the visit is that the “place” feels good. Very inspirational
