Plan ahead because there is so much to see.

I went there on my honeymoon and was so underwhelmed for the money. While everyone on the Couples Resort compound was nice, the taxi driver and all the locals we did run into tried to scam us out of money or sell us drugs (literally!!). The poverty was overwhelming, and made me sad to think of the dollars that we were putting into the island that would never make it back to the shanty towns that were a constant from the airport to the resort.

It was a fabulous trip and lots of fun!

They had food so good it’ll make your fins flip!

We went to Ocho Rios (Couples Resort) for our honeymoon and it was the best / most relaxing time I’ve had on vacation ever. That all inclusive goes a long way and with the conversion rate the way it is (when we were there in 2006 it was 34 to 1 dollar) you can live like a king tipping $2.00 here and there. DEFINITELY negotiate when you go into town to do some shopping.

Beautiful country. Love the water and the sand, beautiful! But - the people are used to american tourists and they buy the crap out of you trying to get you to buy their hand made crafts. Some of which is cool, but if you just want to explore, this is not the city to do it in. I recommend another not so touristy part of jamaica to visit.

For the most part the people are pretty nice…. if you can get past the cab drivers when you get off the ship!! We had an awesome driver though, he took us to places that most tourists don’t get to see… I actually have a picture from the top of this mountain over looking the water and he took us to a couple of mansions and just a lot of beautiful scenery … it is so gorgeous. I would DEFINITLY go there again!!

Went here on a day trip from the resort with the fam. Market shopping. Cool souveneirs.

This area of ocho rios is known for its amonds trees and other fruits. Very cool scenes of the sea side beautiful flowers growing out of the sea banks.
