Great Smoky Mountains National Park

All I’m saying is that the highest point in Tennessee, which we hiked to the top of, is ACTUALLY ALL (except the very peak) in North Carolina! It’s georgeous though. The mountains are so…vast.

What did you most enjoy at Smoky Mountains?

was in 1963, my family camped there on our way to visit my great uncle in Florida. It was pouring rain when we got there, after dark, the first night, so we all slept in the car. The next day was bright and sunny, and I remember it all being so beautiful. We didn’t see any bears, though. “(

Clingmans Dome is breathtaking, even if it isn’t sunset. Take time to stop along the roadside to enjoy the quiet of the streams. Watch the sun travel through the trees.

My friend and I went on a hike to a little water fall (grotto falls) and it was amazing. I loved it! It was so refreshing and so beautiful. The mountains, the streams, the simplicity and pure beauty, I could have stayed forever.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I recommend renting a cabin and hiking the numerous hiking trails. Also take the chair lift in Gatlinburg. The Aquarium was fantastic!

I love the smokies, I want to go back so bad!!!!!

Definitely worth the trip! Highly recommend the fall and spring seasons! Come prepared to relax and enjoy and if you have time, get off the beaten path and roll the windows down! Enjoy.

I love the lushness of this area. Everything so green and fertile. It always struck me as if man and nature were warring and nature seemed to have the upper hand.

There is so much to see and do while there. Close to tubing, rafting, kayak/canoe etc., camping, horseback riding, biking trails, some waterfalls, etc. And for those who’d rather be shopping…send them off to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge.

I prefer the natural beauty and recommend exploring Cades Cove. What truly breathtaking sights!
