The year was 1975, I was 15, and “Busch Gardens – The Olde Country” was shiny and new. My favorite ride at that time was the Glissade, a small-ish steel coaster with a blazing fast corkscrew. (It is no longer there.) Of course, the Loch Ness Monster came in 1978 and knocked our socks off. It was (and remains) an amazing ride. Busch Gardens is about more than the rides, though, it’s the beautiful “Olde Europe” atmosphere with entertainment and surroundings that are unique among theme parks.
My family visited there every summer for years until we kids were all grown ups going in different directions. I haven’t been there for a long time and I would love to return soon. Busch Gardens is the best and most beautiful theme park ever. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. ;-)
