Leuven

Best little University town I have seen so far (and I have seen quite a few). Place is loaded with cafes and restaurants and full of good atmosphere. Excellant Belgian beers just help make your visit more fun. Really enjoyable.

Leuven is known for four things: gas works, Stella Artois brewery, being the capital of Brabant, and, of course, KUL – as in “cool!” or Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. If your school offers an exchange program with them – GO!

A very compact university town with the absolute best ‘brabant gothic’ Stadhuis and a very well-preserved Begijnhof. (And a very high ratio of pretty girls compared to other Belgian cities)

Yes, yes! I’ve been here. This is where an entire half of my family tree lives. How exciting.
