Vancouver Island

if you’re looking for a straight up tourist experience and have some cash to spend, vancouver island is a great pick. buchart gardens is beautiful in season, and the town is hustle-bustle fun, replete with such standard tourist town fare as street musicians, artists, and improv. suitable for families, couples, or individuals. very pretty and laid-back.

I grew up on Vancouver Island (Campbell River). Have lived away (in Australia) for over 30 years now, but still love the Island. Visited this year and felt at home instantly. A very beautiful part of the world. If anyone wants to know anything about the place, I’d be pleased to help. Great skiing on the Island if your into that. You don’t have to fight the crowds at Whistler!

The mountains are beautiful. When it rains in the valley, it snows in the mountains. To look up and see the white mountain tops was a beautiful sight !!!!

This place changed my life because it made me see beauty in new things. I saw the ocean for the first time and fell in love with it’s endless beauty (that sound soooo cheesy). We drove on inredibly smooth highways and saw so many things. I tried salmon for the first time. I said goodbye to relatives and actually felt extremely sad to be doing so for the first time. I saw the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.. over the ocean. I saw mountains. I saw jellyfish, starfish, otters and crabs. My feet were in the Pacific Ocean. I’ve never been anywhere better.

On the West coast of Vancouver Island is a rugged but beautiful place. I was there once, many years ago. The two towns, Tofino and Uclulet are interesting small towns.

There used to be a lodge there called Wickeninish. Don’t know if its still there.

The Port..the buildings…the gardens..Everything about this place is magical __

We went around 1964 and Loved it. The high rise buildings that were so impressive, the ocean views, the high speed trains that took us to many different parts each having its own “culture” such as chinatown, the friendly people—fabulous place.

When my family moved back to the Seattle area from Hawaii, we spent a week or so here on a little trip while waiting for our stuff to arrive.

It was like a breath of cool area. Lots of evergreens, and super nice people.

I had a great time being a tourist. I didn’t get to do everything on my list so I need to return. The only disappointment I had was the seemingly endless drizzle.
