Ko Samui aka: Koh Samui

Had a great experience on this island. Our hotel (Silver Sand) was a bit rough by most peoples standards but the staff are the best and youre safe here. Very quiet hotel.

i went to Ko Samui when i was 10, i don’t even know where i was heading to at that time. i was just busy playing with the puzzle Thai Airlines gave. the things i remembered about this place was chasing dogs on the beach and feasting on seafood. the restaurant in the hotel was by the beach and the atmosphere was fantastic. and i almost drowned while swimming in the hotel’s pool. the thing is, i don’t even know how to swim!! now that i know how to swim, i’ll be going back, someday.

Sweet beaches, nice friendly people.

Stay at the Coral Cove Chalet in the Grand View Suite. It’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a hotel room. Rent a car and visit all the island’s waterfalls. Have a Thai-style lobster dinner.

If you want to get yourself a PADI Open Water Diver certificate I recommend Silent Divers wholeheartedly.

Everbody should do a stupid thing once in their lifetime…
mine was goin’ here, having a blast and basically partyin’ so hard the whole period I have been there evolved into one big blur.
I’m not sure what I did exactly but it was fun!!!!!

If you like crowded beaches, this is your place. If not, you are much better off spending your island time over on Koh Phan Yan. There are three islands in the area, and each has its own personality. The quick run-down goes like this:
Koh Samui-crowded, has an airport, a large buddha, and elephants. Not much else to say about it…
Koh Phan Yan- Asian paradise. Quiet island with cheap hidden beaches. Beautiful beaches, good food, not really crowded at all (in 2000).
Koh Tao- Go here to dive and drink, in that order.
