Ko Samui aka: Koh Samui

We stayed at Magic Resort and it was pleasant and resonably priced. Meals on the beach, great shopping, beautiful airport, friendly people. Can’t wait to go back!

We couldn’t leave! Literally we extended our trip without a second thought! Ko Samui is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. I recommend the hotel, THE LIBRARY for a cool juxtaposition between old and new. modern and timeless.

...I had just spent a week in Koh Pha-Ngan and I think it is because of that fact, that I’m not saying that Koh Samui is not worth going to. For me, Koh Samui was too crowded and lacked the simple island charm that Pha-Ngan possess. I’m sure there’s places in Samui that you can go to “get away from it all,” but why go through all the effort when you can simply take a short ferry ride and truly get away from it all in Pha-Ngan.

Don’t get me wrong, if you end up in Koh Samui, I’m sure you’ll have a good time. I just think you’ll end up having a better and more memorable time in Koh Pha-Ngan.

me and a friend went here totally unplanned and cutting a lot of classes! Since we live in Malaysia, we took a bus, a van, a ferry and finally a motorbike ride, for nearly one day to finally arrive at Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui. We were broke and had no expectations, but those were the best way to do a spontaneous trip!

I loved it.

The airport is so funny. All outdoors and completely non-airport like. The main part of the island is a bit overun by tourists, but it is a big island and there are places to get away and find a nice beach.

First time I went their during the peak of high season in january. It’s very crowded there and a lot of western tourist. So, it wasn’t a really charming experience.

I had the best chicken with pinapple one afternoon in a restaurant just on the beach. I wouldn’t know the name though.

Came for a diving holiday, did my PADI AOW certificate here, had a great time!

Loved loved loved this place! We got to stay for about 2 weeks and it was so laid back and beautiful. We rented mopeds and saw alot of the island from the monkeys to the scorpion/snake handler (“He loooooove them and they loooooove him”). The food was great and one of our favorites is Tom Gha Kai. We had shark steaks on the beach and ate at The Happy Elephant many times. We’d go back in a heartbeat. Just don’t forget the sunscreen and to avoid moped disasters, remember they drive on the “wrong” side of the road!

Itallians look really good naked and the water is really warm…it was awesome
