Nerja

This is one of my happy places. If I have a stressful day I mentally return to Nerja.

Burriana Beach has a great set of restaurants on the beach where you can get freshly caught fish barbequed in front of your eyes. Try the Sardines!

A lovely little beach town. Some of the tourist accomodation seems to surrounded by constant building work as they make it increasingly touristy but once you’re in the town itself it’s wonderful. Great bars and cafes, and the hundreds of stray cats near some of beaches give the place an interesting personality

Now that winter in the Midwest has hit, I’m jonesin’ for some beach time more than ever.

I spent 4 weekends in Nerja the summer of 2005, and it is the most beautiful and incredible place I’ve been. Small-town Spain with every ‘touristy’ amenity needed. Great beaches, great water, terrific nightlife, and very accessible. Only 8 euro for a bus ride from Granada!

Spent 2 weeks here in Summer 2005, nice place and there’s a really good bar hidden halfway down to the beach, with a hammock.
