University Of California, San Diego aka: UCSD

My daughter toured this place, as this was on her list of potential places to matriculate.
I left my cellular phone down here. Lucky for me, somebody turned it in

was two weeks ago (I’m at home in L.A for the summer and I began to miss the damn place). I can’t wait for school to start in September. A comment about La Jolla Cove…it’s great to see your friends slip on the rocks…haha…my friends hate me!!!

The library (pictured above – supposed to look like DNA) has some interesting displays all the time, but not always publicized far and wide, even when they show incredibly rare Dr. Seuss stuff.

The aquarium is also a great visit. Keep in mind that a small, free bus will take you from the main campus just down the road (a 7 minute drive) to the aquarium – completely free.

The school is great (worked here for a while). The students are very serious about schoolwork, so despite the lovely atmosphere you’ll see lots of faces working in the library.

Now keep in mind I think it, like UC Irvine, is not set in a good place for the actual people attending there. Absolutely beautiful location on the coast, no question, but the surrounding community would probably like it better if there was just a school and no student body. Which is a pity.

Geisel Library is pretty cool.

I got accepted as well, and it’s my college to be.
Visited today, and it was breath-taking.
It’s ALWAYS sunny w a slight breeze to cool it off…
UCSD has this mellow/relaxed aura that I can’t get enough of
and the beach is the best part.

An awesome school, with crazy art all around the campus, & right near the beautiful cliffs overlooking the ocean!

Beautiful campus, made lifelong friends—I sure hope there’s more to do these days than drink beer. It wasn’t great for student life in the late 20th Century.

Highlights of the campus include: the Sun God, the Geisel Library, the Super Computer Center, and the eucalyptus forest.
