How this place changed my life

I love Arcata in ways my feeble tongue cannot explain.

You will never find a town with friendlier people, more passion, or more beauty.

I moved up there after living in SoCal for a large chunk of my life. I had to learn to make my own fun, but in time, that became easy. It’s hard not to want to play with starfish at Trinidad or go for a short hike through the Arcata forest.

My husband and I hope to retire here someday. It’ll be wonderful.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Arcata is a little slice of Oregon in Northern California. The town itself is really small, but since it’s a college town, you can still catch live music and find some good eats. Redwood Park is an amazing place to wander around, and I have some great memories from going to Clam Beach a tad bit north of town. Definitely good for a weekend visit. Beautiful.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

OMG…I lived in Humboldt County for about 2 years and I absolutely LOVE Arcata/Eureka! My favorite thing about this place is all the AMAZING resaurants and hippie-owned stores…some of my favie restaurants are Arcata Pizza and Deli, Wildberries Co-op, Tomo Sushi, Bon Boniere Ice Cream (maple nut!!!!), Organically Delicious and Kyoto Sushi. The Eureka Co-op also has THE BEST sandwiches!
Arcata also has it’s own rules pretty much…there are always festivals and everybody is really friendly. It’s like its own little world….one of the most unique places you could ever go.

A review of this place: A good spot to visit

I had a great time while I was here, The redwoods are unbelievable. There’s so much to explore outside, but I don’t think I would want to live there. People are nice, but everyone’s a little too mellow for me to handle. I was almost embarrassed to tell people I didn’s smoke pot because that’s like, the thing to do there, man.

moved here in August.

i’ve enjoyed the last few months thoroughly. my beau and i moved up here together and i dont think it would be the same without him. i’d probably get myself into trouble or something.

it’s cold, but i like it. it just started raining, but i like it. it’s far from home, but i like it.

the people are different, and come from all walks. i just like the vibe that’s in the air.

It’s a great place to visit. Plenty of beautiful scenery with the redwoods and beaches.
