i was born in indiana, pa and my family still lives there so i’m sort of close by. groundhog day is cold, the poor groundhog looks terrified (there’s a reason they have to replace phil like every year), and it’s a bunch of hype about nothing. the town is kind of smelly. just don’t go. really.

I went for Groundhog Day in 2003. There is quite a bit of small town stuff to do for that, but I can’t imagine it’s very interesting any other time of the year. Groundhog Day itself is full of drunk college kids.

I used to live here when i went to school at IUP. Its fun for Groundhog’s day. Very quiet and small. Its a nice place to live, but I don’t think if I weren’t from there that I would plan a trip or anything. Unless you’re coming for Groundhog’s Day. The ENTIRE town is plastered with Phil, it got annoying after a while. haha

Phil lives in the library!

My best friend, Marcy, is from here. It is a very small town with a small town attitude. We spent the summer up there when we were 14 and did a ton of things we would never have done back home. We spent the day at an abandoned glass factory and found old multicolored votive holders and big chunks of glass. We hung out at the local elementary school playground and climbed the neverending monkey steps by the cemetary. We also played baseball, went to the local fair, and swam. It is a cool place.

Groundhog Day

If you know about Groundhog Day, chances are you’ve heard of this little Pennsylvanian town. There’s not much to see and it’s a bit old, but a fun trip nonetheless.
