I went to the university in holland for two years and thought it was crap. A very narrow minded town with major gang problems that the populous likes to sweep under the rug.

The most gorgeous beach on Michigan’s west coast.

I live in Holland now. I never wanted to live here, but this is where I’ve ended up. It’s okay I guess.

I was young and still living in Michigan (therefore, under the age of 13). I’ve always loved tulips and having gone there during the time when the tulips were in full bloom (I don’t recall it being during the actual annual festival), my love for the flowers solidified.

Now if only I could grow them and enjoy them in my own yard.

I want to go back because a lot of my ancestory is documented there – I’m Danish. I do recall going through one of the museums to see a ton of framed pictures around the late 1700’s, early 1800’s and commenting “Boy, am I glad I’ve got a bit of Irish in me too” because almost everyone in those pictures looked painfully plain. I think that makes me want to visit all the more because I find it very hard to believe they were really all that … ahm … plain looking.

I grew up here so this place definitely changed my life. Tulip Time is a great time to visit, but beware of the locals. They get very sick of the crowds of tourists. Also be sure to make it to the beach.

It’s a tiny town on the lake Michigan. The maing sightseeing place is the beach and the downtown, usually people come hereduring Tulip Time. It is probably the most beautiful time of the year. LOTS and LOTS of tulips. The town is mostly Dutch and Hispanic. Couple days here will definitely be a good experience for everybody! :)

Going during the tulip festival in the spring is a feast to the eyes. The windmills aren’t bad either.
