Owensboro

I have family here.

...but, haha, who could pass up the hometown of Johnny Depp?

Anytime I need to do some shopping, I end up in Owensboro. It is just far enough away to have a little different style, but not to much so. And the guys that come out of the boro…pretty sweet.

I’d love to move there and own a small horse farm

we have some great BBQ places and a really great Performing Arts Center.

Tough call re Worth or Not Worth visiting. Outside of its many annual festivals, there really isn’t much to do in Owensboro, though perhaps that’s only because of overexposure to it over the years. But during the festivals, it can be a delight. The annual River of Music festival attracts performers and an audience from around the globe; the bbq festival has been featured on the TDC series “Travelers”. The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra is also quite nice—surprisingly good, even, for a town of this size.

Owensboro is a perfect example of how a town needs interstates to become a city. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. The annual BBQ festival has a charm all its own and is – hands down – the best BBQ in the world. Truly.

Plus, it’s the home of Jon Brennan, the 1st season Real World country guy. Yehaw.
