Not worth visiting!

Like everything else in Delaware, Wilmington sucks (I know, I live 15 minutes away). Nothing to do, the people aren’t interesting, the city looks like crap… The only real event that happens here is the Dupont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival.

Warning: If your looking for a good time, NEVER go to Wilmington!

I lived in Wilmington,DE for 18 months and I feel no regret in saying it was the worst 18 months of my life. The school district sucx, the people are ok, and the social activitys are so limited after spending 2 days there I was ready to leave.

The roads are a huge mess of one way streets and confusion, take a taxi, bus, or walking would be your best bet. But once you get to your destination there is plenty to do, see and all that good stuff. worth visiting!

Wilmington

i lived there once...

I called Wilmington my home for a year when I worked at a homeless shelter in nearby Newark, DE. Although Wilmington has many complex problems (homelessness, wealth and poverty, etc.) and isn’t as interesting as many other places along the east coast, it holds a place in my heart.

Definatly check out the festivals in the summertime (Polish and Italian were my favorite) and get some “water ice”.

I have lived in Wilmington, DE for 21 years, and I still love it, truly. Sure, it’s not the most thrilling place ever, but it’s centrally located between Philadelphia, Washington, New York, and Baltimore, so it’s an ideal place to live if you are a suburbanite at heart, but need easy access to city entertainment. Anything you want to know about Wilmington, drop me a line!

A review of this place

Quaint town. Nice park & promenade along the river. Good oyster bar at Harry’s.

Why I want to go to this place

I’m a Philadelphia fanatic. Living in the norteast, I’ve passed the little skyline of Wilimington on the highway a number of times in my life, say, on the way to Baltimore or DC. I always wondered what little Wilmington is like compared to its taller, neighboring citys.

Summer of 2005: Wilmington

I spent my summer of 2005 in Wilmington De working for MBNA (the credit card company), and also for Top of the Hill Apartments as a leasing agent. I lived in downtown Wilmington and it was mostly scary. I woke up to yelling every morning and many times I was afraid to leave the house, day or night. It was the first time I had lived in the nort east and it was really neat to be so close to so many states. I recommend WATERICE.
