Champaign-Urbana aka: Urbana-Champaign

been here for about 12 years now. not a bad little town. not much to do. but you can get anywhere you need in 15 minutes. gota love downtown champaign the best. great bars and food.

...was this weekend. very cool cities. i loved the coffeeshops/restaurants of downtown champaign. very hip. the demolition derby at the county fair was fun too…

i’m visiting one of my best friends here next week! i’m pumped to visit a liberal college town!

I currently live here while my spouse finishes graduate school at UIUC. It is a nice small college town. However, while it might not be Madison or Austin, it is probably more diverse than most would expect for a town of its size.

Like most larger places if you know where to look there is quite a lot to do here (check out the Buzz or Hub free weeklys).

Summer is the best time, but then I dislike [undergrad] students walking/driving in the streets without looking for cars! They also tend not to know how to drive either.

The major complaint I have is that there isn’t a good selection of Indian restaurants (I think it is just Basmati on First Street, am I wrong?).

But a crazy college town! I lived here for 6 years in college and grad school. I enjoyed living here much more when I was off campus with “real people.” Summertime was my favorite. I made a lot of great memories here…met my husband, adopted my beloved dog…I miss living here.

is where one of my first internet friends was from. It’s an interesting town. I visited her a couple of times while passing through Champaign on my way to Indiana.

Very good school, city is OK. Basically a Chicago suburb WAY south of Chicago & not enough diversity.

Overall, it’s no Iowa City or Madison!!

I went to school for 4 years here, it’s a great little town.

It’s a pretty solid college driven city, but it would be a ghost town other than that. I actually live out here now since moving outta my place and it gets pretty bad over the school breaks.
