Michigan City

I really only came here a few times for the Outlet Mall because it was the only place within 100 miles that I could find a Crate & Barrel but now that they don’t even have that anymore, I see no reason for coming back. The town is a bit crap.

Michigan City, home of the Michigan City Prison! What can I say about this place?? The only time I plan to visit here again is when they put the scum bag Matthew Eric Wrinkles to death.

This is a great place to go to. A small cozy city. I hope to one day soon live there.

The outlet mall, the state prison, many run-down buildings, beautiful lakeshore, the cooling tower that looks like a nuclear reactor, the casino boat that doesn’t go anywhere…..stick the Frankline Street (421 N off of I-94) and that will take you to most of the places worth going.

the lakeshore is worth visiting michigan city for. and the outlet mall. it’s actually really pretty down by the lake with a couple good resturants. and just down the road are sand dune parks and nature parks and historic indiana sites and farms.

Was marooned in Michigan City with a broken alternator. It was closed and everything closed at 9 central.

The areas by the Lake are nice; however, not a good place to visit. What a shame – a world of potential sitting at the base of Lake Michigan and all going to waste.

Is it worth it or isn’t it? That’s REALLY hard to say. They have a great outlet mall, a casino boat (The Blue Chip), the beach is nice, the zoo is really old and isn’t that great, quite busy for a small place, and it’s kinda dirty. There isn’t really that much to do. So unless you live within I’d say, 45 minutes or so, I wouldn’t recommend going.

It’s a convenient stopping place when driving east-west on the interstate. Other than that, I can’t say much about it. It is one of those funny towns that’s named after a neighboring state, kind of like Kansas City, Missouri. Go figure.
