My wife introduced me to a Shabu Shabu restaurant here. We went here often in the late nineties before finding a closer Shabu Shabu restaurant in Monterey Park.

Worth visiting!
Loud, crazy, exuberant, I’m all for it. (And I am deeply not-Korean in background, and yet I’m still all for it.) Without trying to sound flippant, whoever said that the Koreans were a bit like the Irish of Asia was onto something, and like the Irish Korean immigration to the US was an amazing positive through and through, and only know-nothing goofs would complain. Even if it was only for all the fantastic restaurants that have been created, that’s reason enough to go visit. (Though a slight warning—drivers there can be a bit TOO exuberant…)

What more can you ask for? just kidding. Koreatown is fun in LA. It’s much bigger than the one in NYC.
