Capitol Hill

I stayed here recently on a trip to Seattle. On 15th street, close to that Englishlooking pub. Great location. Everything was within walking distance. We took the bus down to the waterfront and ferries. Visited with some friends. Ate great food. Bought music. Great place to stay in the city.

Bags and bags of character; with myriad interesting (even eclectic) coffeehouses and bars… fantastic!

just over 5 yrs ago, i moved here to Seattle to be with my boyfriend of the time…i wanted to get some kickass black knee high boots…never had any and had always wanted some…he brought me up here to look for them at a couple places, found the perfect pair at metro…after a couple months we didn’t work out and so i moved in w/ the housemates he lived in before he moved downtown…best move of my life because i married and had a child w/ one of the guys and am still living here (after 1.5 yr in west seattle to have and start out the family)...i love it up here…the best place in seattle….

Just moved from a hellish living situation in Squire Park to a little slice of paradise on 14th and Olive. My new neighbors are great, and I have a fire pit in my backyard, which will be in use almost constantly, weather permitting. It’s great to be back on the Hill!

I used to live here. I miss it.

I was born and raised on the Hill, and I must say, ITS AMAZING. My all time favorite places here are: Backstage Thrift, Value Village, The Bagel Deli, and Cafe Ladro. Definitely check these places out, and if you ever see me don’t hesitate to say hello!

When I first landed in Seattle this was the first place I lived – a block down John off of Broadway in a roach-infested hovel that I didn’t really mind because I was always out of the house, taking in Broadway with wide-open, fresh-out-of-the-suburban-South eyes. Twelve years later I’ve lived all over town but Capitol Hill is still the heart of my city. Though I spend much of my time in other neighborhoods, walking down Broadway never ceases to feel like a little homecoming.

And I always seem to find someplace or something new whenever I am there, so credit to good friends and their various suggestions. :-) Last time was a great coffee spot and some record store shopping mania = of course I was happy!
