Nags Head

The first time I went to Nags Head was so much fun! I can’t wait to go back. Poor Richards Sandwich Shop was my favorite place to eat and the Elizabethan Gardens was my favorite place that I visited. I also enjoyed the aquarium that we went to. The beaches were very clean and the people were very friendly. I would definitely go back.

I went on a weeklong vacation with about 30 college friends (sort of a reunion trip) and it was awesome! We did a lot of different things – outdoor excursions, museum trips, lighthouse tours, etc – and just enjoyed the weather. Go in midsummer if you want the water to be warm enough to swim in.

I am going to this place in June for a wedding and I can’t wait to go. I heard that it is beautiful and I hope that we will have good weather. I will be down there for a week in a condo with another family that we know so I think that we will have a great time.

Went to Nags Head a year ago for my aunt’s wedding. We rented out a beach house on the ocean and spent the whole week partying. This was one of those places I never wanted to leave. You could sit on the balcony and feel the spray of the ocean on your face, or go for a walk on the boardwalk in the immediate area. We spent a good deal of time looking at lighthouses, and flying kites off the sand dunes, and pretending to be pirates.

I was here on my honeymoon in July, 1982.

My best friend and I visited the Outer Banks on our spring break in 1997. It was my first big road trip. We had so much fun, but that was nearly ten years ago now, and there was so much we didn’t see! I was so excited to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time… although it looked very much like Lake Michigan …except for the sunrise.. that was beautiful. Unfortunately, my memory of it is screwed up because my friend and I decided to take pictures of each other on the beach with the sunrise in the background… all the pictures turned out looking like fire was coming out of our butts. We fondly reefer to them as the “fart pictures”.
I want to visit again, especially now that I’m a teensy bit more mature!

Don’t go during hurricane season… all it does is rain.

Years ago I used to visit there often, and loved it! There was an ultra cool local bar called Mexicanos, not sure if it’s still there but was an awesome spot to hang out with the band my boyfriend was in at the time.

We went up for a wedding. The Nags Head area was a bit too touristy for our taste. But we enjoyed heading south. Hubby wind surfed in Avon and we checked out both Cape Hatteras and Ocracoke. Son loved the ferry! If we return we will stay in Avon or on Ocracoke.
