South Padre Island

We visited here during our wonderful vacation in the spring of 2003 to see my grandma, who lived in Los Fresnos then. I’ll never forget how the manager at the motel-notell in San Benito explained to us that their pool was closed for repairs because a tenant/visitor had driven their rental car into it “by mistake” during spring break, a few weeks before our visit and it hadn’t been repaired. i’m still curious about the need to qualify as a mistake, though…ha ha ha ha.

I went with my youth drama team to South Padre Island to minister one summer, and it was AWESOME!!! The weather was great, and there is nothing like a Whataburger!!

if you love the ocean, and clean white beaches, go to padre island. i have been several times to camp and vacation. i am never disappointed.

The weather is warm, windy and humid. A large range of accommodations and restaurants. People are very friendly.

Stay at the Sheraton

i will go here every weekend with my family and friends when i lived in texas.

Ive did the spring break thing here way before I ever thought I would be living in Texas. Since then, I have been back several times, quieter times. Its great to sit out on the beach with no one around. A must-do… horseback riding on the beach!

My family went for Thanksgiving. There is just something so wonderful about have fajitas on Thanksgiving day.

If you are in the area ok. go there but i probably wouldn’t go to s.p.i. just to go to s.p.i. Its probably great for spring break but ther are better beaches around.
