White House

I went on a tour of the White House with my school (University of Delaware) at the beginning of the month. It was really beautiful and incredible. I wish I could go back and see more! I’d especially like to go on a tour around Christmas.

I visited D.C. when I was in the 8th grade, years ago, and we got to go inside. It was awesome, I remember there being a blue room and everything in the house looked so expensive. I feel very special that I had the privileged to go inside.

These days you have to have a minimum party of 10 people and months advance reservation so most likely you will simply walk by the White House and take pictures outside. We did that this weekend. We went around the other side and the road was blocked off momentarily but the guards would not say exactly why, just that someone will enter/leave and they need to keep the area clear. 3 helicopters approached and only one landed at the White House, then it left. I think President Bush was in it. Very interesting experience.

Be sure to request a tour months ahead a time if you want to be sure to see the inside!

I went before the increase in national security, when you could still get inside of the White House. If, by some miracle you have a chance to go inside, you definately should! It’s beautiful, and you learn an incredible amount of information about the Presidents and just general random facts.

But it still was pretty cool

I went in last September. My brother-in-law proposed to my sister in the Rose Garden. We had a tour of the West Wing through a friend who works there. Really incredible.

I’m into all of this stuff & history, this was a great tour & I even snapped a picture of what appears to be a ghost in one of the windows. (I’ll post it if I can ever remember)

The first time I went here, was in the spring of 2001. For the annual 8th grade class trip. We spent, I think 3-4 days there, over President’s Day weekend. A ton of fun, espcially spending time with all of your friends.

One thing I remember is that when my roommates and I were watching tv, we came across the South Park movie. And then everyone came into our room to watch it.
