Land's End

Just make sure if you go here you dont run low on petrol, we found it hard to find a garage that was open later in the day! :)

20 years ago (or more) I walked around the cost of Devon and Cornwall.

I pitched my tent very close to the coast and sat for a good part of the night listening to the ocean waves, admiring the rocks, thinking of the places where this water had come from across the ocean.

I met a very interesting gentleman who I joined for a dinner a day or two later up the coast a bit. He told me one story that I have retold many times. As we discussed the water of the oceans and in our pints of beer, he made the observation that statistically there is likely one molecule of Julius Ceasers piss in every pint of beer!! ... Ponder that thought next time you have a pint … hopefully in several hundred years they are discussing Marywinkle’s urine molecules in pints of something!

Sitting and conteplating at Land’s end was truly a fond and favorite memory of my travels.

I Want to go from Land’s End to John O’Groats

I almost got there last time, almost.

It was just that close, too bad the timing and the weather were not right. Wish have a better luck next time.

Hope someday I can accomplish the route from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

Its was better than i imagined. It might be £10 but its pretty cool to get whatever you like added to the sign post. It is a bit amusement parkish but the end to enders exhibition was pretty cool showing the weird and wonderful ways people have made the john o’ groats to land end trip.

In addition to that land end is a pretty place, take a walk left away from the sign post along the cliffs.

Bring a coat though, its windy down there.

worth visiting in order to say you have done it….. however…..

There is a rather stern man who will not let you stand next to the sign unless you are paying him a minimum of £10 to get a photo taken, and it is turning inot a bit of a theme park! For wild, unspoilt, beautiful places to see there is so much more on offer in Cormwall!
