I performed here. I play flute/oboe and went to Sydney to play at the opera house. Saw the back of house and the dressing rooms. Very beautiful and acousically awesome hall!

The sun was setting behind the harbor bridge, the colors were lighting the Opera House with it’s glow. Amazing place to enjoy a a fine glass of Australian wine, and take in the scenery. I’d avoid the restaurants along the quay, as they are all over priced, with slow service, but take time to walk up and down to soak in the atmosphere.

Went to Sydney late last year, did the whole tourist thing, enjoyed it very much. Caught a ferry to Launa Park & met some cool people.

Yes, of course I’d heard about it. Yes of course I knew how other Australians and visitors to Australia felt about it. Yes, I knew it was one of the most famous landmarks.
However.
Did you realise how close the Opera House was to the Sydney Harbour bridge?
Did you realise how close Luna park was to bridge?
I was utterly taken aback at the close proximity these incredible landmarks had to each other.
I sat on the steps to the Opera House well into the evening.
I saw the moon above the City.
I cried when I saw the lights sparkling upon the water, churned up as it was by the ferries.
It is one of my favourite places. I wish we used the Swan River better in Perth, used our river the way Sydney uses their waterways.
I always eat a dozen oysters au natural with a chilled white wine at the small open air cafe on the walk back from the Opera House to the ferry.
I adore Sydney.
I hope you do too.

I spent most of my childhood growing up in and around sydney. One of my favourite things i can recall was going for a swim at the Andrew Boy Charleton Swimming Pool, a long walk through the Botanical Gardens and after we would end up on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. Here we would watch the ferries come in view the harbour from all its advantage points and finish off with an icecream on the steps.Pretty exciting for a kid but until my adulthood i had never been inside. Then one day that wish came true. My brother inlaw got married here and it is just as inspiring inside.

I used to sit on the water’s edge and just look out at the Opera House. When you’re up close the angles are just fluidlike.
