Devil's Tower National Monument

Beautiful views of the night sky.

We stayed with Frank Sanders at the Devil’s Tower Lodge, and spent four days climbing there.

We went to the top twice via El Cracko Diablo and the Durrance Route. We also did some cragging at the Southwest Shoulder and Teacher’s Lounge areas.

If I was a rock-climber, I’d definitely attempt to climb this beauty, but I’m afraid to even think about it. It’s a neat touristy place to visit. There’s lots of legends about it that are pretty interesting to listen to.

I’m hoping to go in October 2007. Should be fun for an autumn road trip.

We were young kids but I remember when I went to see this fabolus tower. We could see it for miles just waiting and waiting to get there. Well we got to the gate and they did not accecpt out of town checks so we were not allowed to enter the official park but I was damn near 50 yards away. Sunday I will go back.

Pretty neat place to visit. we spent about 2 weeks traveling around one summer and this was one of my favorite spots.

There are animals on top of this tower…how?!?

you wont stay long, but an amazing site for sure. Anyone who say Close Encounters HAS to stop here!

This is a powerful, spirtual place. It is scared to Native Americans, and it is clear why when you stand in it’s shadow.
