Univeristy of California - Berkeley aka: UC Berkeley

I walked around the campus one day. It’s vast and intimidating if you don’t know where you’re going. But it’s definitely a great place.

Call me dubious. Clearly UCLA came about because people were at Berkeley and going “Now if only we had better weather overall and all that.” But my shameless biases aside, the couple of times I’ve been to UC Berkeley, all for radio station conferences, were good fun—lots of room for wandering and relaxing, definitely a fine sign.

Was a long time ago…I miss it and hope ot go back again someday.

kinda boring

always a bit foggy when compared to san diego but berkeley has got the friendly intellectual vibe going on. i love that city. the campus was amazing too, the students should be thankful for those dorms!

I’m a second year student at Berkeley. I’ll be honest—it’s not all it’s cracked up to be, but for me, it’s more a matter of people than atmosphere. The campus itself is beautiful (“The Athens of the West”) and there are resources galore. The surrounding areas are interesting and diverse, but some Berkeley natives aren’t fond of students and make that known.

I actually liked living in the Bay Area better than I did studying at CAL. CAL (and Berkeley) is worth a visit, I guess, if you’re going to be around the San Francisco Bay. The 60-ish atmosphere seems a little commercialized and tired at times, perhaps, but its still quite a different scene from anywhere else you’ll go. I think Berkeley is better as a place to live/experience over a longer period than as a “must-see” sight to be covered in a day tour.
