A tip I have about this place

the view from the top is lovely: you’ll know that you’re in the most beautiful city in the world.

A tip I have about this place

On the 4th of July, the police will close the top of the tower so you’ll have to settle for the parking lot at the bottom. Since the parking lot has a 30-minute time limit, arrive there at 7:30pm (the fireworks start at 8). The police will block the exit until after the fireworks.

To the top!

The bus comes right up here! Don’t mess with your car in SF if you can help it. It just gave us headaches! We ditched ours after the first day.
Coit Tower is a great way to preview the city! To see Lumbard Street from there is a joy! It helped me get a visual of the town! It’s great that you can spend as much time up there as you’d like! Really a neat place!

Kinda cool

Not a reason to go to San Francisco, but if you have time, and you’re near it, go check it out!

there’s an entry fee, and the 360 degree view was cool, but i wouldn’t pay to get in there again.

Coit Tower

Walking up to Coit Tower, you can often see the wild flocks of parrots. At some point, they were people’s pets which were freed or escaped to join others like them.

There is a neat (and aptly named) film about them: “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill”

210 foot tower which is a perfect view point to look down on the City. There is a small museum there as well.
