Emerald Isle

GREAT beach. Lived here for a while and enjoyed it very much. :)

First week of April 2007. Stayed in oceanfront beach house “2 if by Sea”. Practically had the beach to ourselves. Ate seafood at Jordan’s (thumbs up) and Frost (thumbs down). Saw dozens of dolphins cruising up the shoreline. Amazing. Also, walked around the Beaufort waterfront to see the docked sailboats. Drove through Morehead City (it’s been a while). Visited Fort Macon Civil War historical site.

EI is not built up. It is hard to find anything open or to do after 8:30pm. But I think that’s why people seek it out.

Do people not bother to look at the title of the location? Everyone who has placed a picture of Emerald isle, NC has uploaded a photo of the knolly, green place thousands of miles away. Well I will uplpoad a photoo of the real East Coast land of plenty.

Great beach!

Waterslide available and nice public access.

Too many condos coming but that is everywhere I guess.

Makes for a great day trip on the weekend! I love going to the beach and it’s only an hour or two from my house. I <3 EI

Emerald Isle is the way the Outer Banks use to be. Not very many people or built up yet. You can still move in and around the Isle very easily without much traffic concerns and the beaches are outstanding.

A great place for an extended family to get together and chill for a week at the beach. If you dive, the wreck diving out of Morehead City is also great.

My family and I go here almost every year on vacation and stay at the same house. Though there isn’t much to do for me, it is a great place to go and relax. Every year we find somethign new to do, have great neighbors and everything is right across the street (shopping, etc.). I love it.. I just hope Hurrice Ophelia was nice to EI, NC …

My parents, sisters, and all our various family members rent a house on the beach every summer. It’s a great place for this type of family vacation.

With friends or family, it’s not a bad place. Vacationed there for a couple years. Pretty standard east coast beach town.
