for visiting Brooklyn. During my last visit to NYC, which lasted a whole month, I wanted to see Brooklyn but I was sort of afraid to go there alone (don’t laugh, you hear some stories about Brooklyn and then you are scared!).
Then one morning I was sitting in front of NYSE and reading my guide book, when this very kind man, Raoul, asked me if I needed any help – btw, the most used opening line for NYC men! ;-) So we started talking and I told him I am a journalist and have to write about nice places in NYC, so he suggested I visit Brooklyn Heights, where he grew up. I felt reassured that it wasn’t dangerous to go there, so I actually took the subway at noon and got off at the first stop in B. Heights.
That area is adorable! Not scary at all, full of nice people willing to give directions, lovely houses and children playing. I took a stroll on the Promenade (took very nice pictures of the city’s skyline) and then walked down to the Brooklyn Bridge, found it’s tricky entrance and got back to Manhattan via the bridge at sunset… so romantic.
