I found an article about the High Falls Loop inside the Adirondacks’ lowlands Five Ponds Wilderness Area…virgin forest, a 15 mile loop that begins near Wanakena. High Falls is a 21ft waterfall and the turnaround point. trout fishing on the route. Other great stuff to see?

my family went to Lake George and hiking in the Adirondacks on the way to Canada a few summers ago. very fun and very pretty views.

The mountains are so beautiful and the hiking is spectacular. it’s definitely a place to get away from the typical schedule and commune with nature/other people who appreciate it as much as you might.

I’m from the Adirondacks. It’s a stunningly beautiful area and a must see if you love the outdoors.

The last time I was in the Dacks we were ice climbing by Chapel Pond – and when we were done the Cliffhanger Cafe was closed!

I’ve been to the Dacks since I was a kid and I always get excited when I turn off the northway and start to see the contours change.

If you’re there in the winter, you must hike Giant – and slide all the way down on your bum! Just remember to take your crampons off…

Well, in the foothills anyway. About an hours drive puts me in the High Peaks!

My family and I went to the Adirondacks in the early 1990s and I still have fond memories of driving to the summit of Whiteface Mountain, touring the Olympic Village at Lake Placid, camping in Lake George, and taking the NY-to-Vermont ferry. I’m planning another trip for this summer.
