I went here for a youth rally, it was really fun. Everybody I met was super nice, especially the people I stayed with.

Stopped here for lunch on a road trip to LA. this place seemed really nice and would be cool to chill at for a weekend. But I did have a run in with the shittiest sandwich ever. A “Monte Cristo” it’s a ham and cheese on French toast…it sucked. blahh. I wanted more from that sandwich, i wanted it to be everything the name made it sound to be…glamorous, enticing, succulent…but NO! It plain sucked.

A month ago I competed in the Ironman in Coeur d’Alene and had a fantastic time. The local support was incredible and the scenery was second to none. I would recommend the area to anyone, and especially to future Ironman competitors. :)

I was at the truckstop, reading the menu to see what was for breakfast and saw scones. I never had them, so I, being brave, ordered them. They were delicious, and I was hooked! Thereafter, anytime we were in the Pacific Northwest, we found places to order scones! You gotta try ‘em!

This is the destination for outdoor lovers and enthusiasts alike. There is the beautiful Cd’A lake, it stretches 30 miles long, plenty of docks for kayaking and boat launching though some might require a permit?
The Centinnial bike trail is popular among Ironman athletes and everyday bicyclists as it runs from Spokane through Idaho. Whoops though access is not limited to biyclists, as strollers and pedestrians find it wonderful as well.
There’s a nearby theme park, Silverwood which boasts two wooden rollercoasters a new ride Panic Plunge along with many other rides and attractions, a waterpark with a giant wavepool and tube slides.
Thirty miles outside Coeur D’ Alene is Kellogg, where the world famous Dave Smith motors will give a great deal on a car> So he says> but there’s also Silver Mountain Ski Resort which is open in the summer for rides on “the worlds longest gondola”. some prefer to tote their bikes along and ride the rest of the way down. . . others remain for the concerts held at the top.
well, there’s so much to see. In the winter months Bald Eagles can be spotted from a special spot on the lake. It’s a rare occasion but I’ve heard the northern lights have been glimsped at times.
Though, I recommend for a real good time, one would do a bit of research and planning beforehand. There are attrations for every taste, one just has too look hard enough as some things are not broadcast or advertised. . . All in all, I think this is definitely a worthy stop for outdoorsy folks and families with children ages 10+ (only because some rides @ Silverwood, may not be user friendly for the tots. As for everyone else it may take, might I emphasize the need for thorough research. I would even recommend looking up CD’A’s tourist’s website or try the yellowpages directory to find exactly what Coeur D’ Alene really has to offer in order to appeal to all tastes!

I drove though here during my move out west and was awed. Beautiful. I’ve wanted to go back ever since.
