Ice Hotel

Got married here and loved every minute of it! Great special on the Discovery channel about the ice hotel in sweden I recommend visiting either one for the experience but if you want an action packed vacation. Go to Ice Hotel Quebec when the Quebec Winter Festival is going on in February and spend a few minutes in Quebec City the Ice sculptures and events are out of this world!

I’ve seen it advertised on the tv several times and it’s enticing. I don’t know how the hell I’ll get there, but if the opportunity arises, I’m taking it!

There was a room where the bed posts were shaped like turrets of a castle! I was blown away by the details, especially the arm chair, stand, and lamp that shaped from ice. Also, I went in Jan. 07 and there was this fun ice slide to go down. Highly recommended!

It is beautiful there

It’s worth the one or 2 hour dog sled ride. Probably better to stay on a weekend rather than Monday or Tuesday (a little empty those days). Bring hand warmers to stick in your socks (but be ready to kick them off because you might start sweating while you are sleeping on the block of ice, and that is bad). Be prepared to walk and freeze outside too. Gorgeous & fun. We stayed one night here, and 5 nights at the Auberge San Antoine in QC. Fantastic hotels!

I saw the one in Sweden on TV and was interested in going there, but Canada is much closer to home. Going to Canada will be less expensive.

Was actually the first choice of our honeymoon destination. its’ amazing how the architect is different every year. I saw a documentary of it. I want to “live” in a real piece of art!

It kept melting on me, by the time i left i was drenched in water

Talk about a neat place to stay! I might try to do it this winter.

Thought this looked absolutely amazing when I stumbled across it (some great activities), not to mention beautiful with all of its sculptures. When I went to mention it to my mum she immediately knew what I was talking about before I even managed to get a few words out after having just read about it somewhere else completely, even though we’d never talked about it.

Cool little coincidence (for us at the time anyway!), but I’d like to take it as an omen I will one day get to visit the Ice Hotel, because really it does look amazing, if not a little cold…...
