Athens has a culture all its own and is definitely a gem of Southeastern Ohio…there is SO much more here than Ohio University, and the best parts aren’t part of the University at all. The Farmer’s Market on Saturdays is great, the local restaurants are amazing, and there are dozens of scenic state and local parks in all directions. Definitely find real local to show you the area if you’re around Athens…University students may not appreciate all it has to offer

Athens will always hold a dear and special place in my heart! The fall season allways initates reflections on the time that passed while I was there. I love and miss it very much and reccomend anyone that enjoys the slower ways of life to visit there!

Worth visiting if you’re in your early 20s. Otherwise, I’m not sure what the point would be…

If u want to see something awsome watch the sun go down sitting on the rocks at Old man cave or have a friend that lives in the sticks(just kidding friends) but that is God’s Country.!

Want to move there!!!! Ohhh and look at the puppy I got while I was there. Cutie!!!

I spent 4 of the most fun years of my life in Athens, OH!!

I visited a good friend of mine in Athens a few times and always had a great time. There are good folks there, some great food, and a couple good music venues. Check out the Pawpaw Festival if you get the chance.

I attend Ohio University and have totally fallen in love with Athens, Ohio. It’s a beautiful place. The campus is amazing, and the surrounding areas are as well. Kinda bare, so don’t come here expecting city life. It’s a laid back place. Except on Halloween.

The only thing there is Ohio University.

This college town is soooooo laid back. Everyone walks around in sandals. The college community has a decent rock scene. Don’t let me forget Halloween weekend. They have a huge party, where everyone dresses up and the main street stays open all night with live music and people.
