Redwoods

I grew up half and hour from the redwoods, and they hold a special place in my heart.

It is difficult for my husband and I to get back to that part of California, but someday I want to show him their unique beauty.

Just thinking about the redwoods makes me happy. I can almost smell them now. :)

Why I recommend this place to visitors

The Redwood Forest is a magical place~ as you enter the forest the silence is magnificent~ the forest floor is soft and immediately you feel the energy of the ancient trees… As you walk through the forest one gains a feeling that comes from being in the presence of spiritual awakening~ this is the church that I love the best~ my soul is renewed as I walk through the tall ancient trees and I feel the sacredness in each breath!

A review of this place

I personally liked Humboldt Redwoods State Park better.

We stopped and hiked through the Redwoods for a few hours during our trip up the coast. It was a fun time. Surprisingly, we didn’t run into too many people on the trail, so it was a nice quite afternoon.

The first time I went to this place

I started off early yesterday morning on a road trip up the coast, for a much needed vacation! I decided to try and check as many places off this list as I could (plus hit a few places that were going to get on the list next).

Redwood National Park was one of my first stops as I went up the California coastline. I have vague memories of visiting a redwood forest as a young child, but I don’t think my family ever visited this park.

I took the short hike to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, and it was still fairly early on a weekday morning so it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. It’s an amazing sight to look up one of those giant redwoods!

Waking to Green Clouds

The redwood forests of Northern California are a must visit. There is nothing else quite like it.

A friend and I arrived in Redwood National Park during the off season in March. Having not found an open campground, we pulled off on a service road in the middle of the Park and found a clearing where we pitched a tent and fell asleep.

I woke up to see beautiful, high clouds with bits of bright blue peeking through. But instead of a fluffy white, these clouds were green. It took a minute to realize that I was looking up at a high canopy above – way above. It was absolutely breathtaking.

This is a place you must see.

Went here with my first wife, and remember being in awe of the tall beauty that is a redwood tree.
