Why I recommend this place to visitors

I can’t begin to say how unique and beautiful a place this is. Haunting. Stunning. Otherworldly.

Otherworldly

We hiked to the coast, then through the rain forest, then up part of Mt Olympus. 3 completely different climates and environments in one place. Seems almost impossible. Everything about this place is gorgeous and one of the most memorable parts of my time in the Pacific Northwest. Reminds me of how small I am compared to this amazing earth.

First Hike

This was the first place my daughter went hiking…well she went along for the ride as she was only 10 days old.

It's so beautiful.

We did not get to hike in very far but what we saw was amazing. Lots of wildlife too! We saw otters, elk, ducks and a fox.

It is so worth it! Afterall, then you can claim to have been to a rainforest! A temperate rainforest. But also very pretty! VERY green!

Nothing like it that I've seen

This place is amazing! And I went in a “dry” season too. There are no “challenging” hikes per se, but it’s an experience you owe yourself.

Straight lines and coincidence

Only rainforest in the United States. Sometimes you see a bunch of trees perfectly lined up – that’s because when a tree falls down, new trees grow up in a line along the decomposing trunk. I heard a familiar voice as i was walking around, and sure enough it was someone i knew from college!
