If you go on the tour of the dam take them seriously when they ask about being claustrophobic…..and really think about…are you??? I was a little nervous through the whole tour and when waiting for the elevator to take us back up it hit me that I had to get out of there and soon…...Luckily my husband was able to keep me calm and kept reassuring me that we were safe until it was our turn to get on. But one more minute of waiting and I KNOW I would have lost it…..Other than that its an awesome place to visit!! :D

Take the more expensive tour. I thought it was worth it, even when we had to wait for an hour and a half.

Very interesting tour! Gets you right in the bowels of what a Dam is all about for electricity. Was a bit scarey to be locked in one of the rooms where if they open side tubes of over flow water the room would be in the path. I think I saw where they had to use this over flow recently! I was impressed!

I thought it was much bigger than that, but maybe the size of the dam was messed up due to the lack of water surrounding it due to drought. Plus it’s 11 dollars for a tour that isn’t really worth it if you read about the dam before you go.

This was just unreal, I was so excited about being able to drive over the dam, and last summer I was able to do it. If you are into technology in any way you will fall in love. The green water and the way it bleached the rocks was amazing.
It was better than all my expectations.

Temp about 110, and just like a blast furnace.
I especially liked the winged sculptures of the Republic. I even rubbed their toes for luck.

My grandparents took me here on vacation when I was about 10. I had just gotten my first camera that year for my birthday, you remember, those little 110 film cameras. Anyway, the camera ended up in Hoover Dam and I ended up crying. 10 year olds cant seem to hold on to anything. hehehe
