i wanna go back and live there!

You know, I’m pretty sure there’s more than one. I was on my way to Wisconsin via macinac island we stopped here on a whim. Really cool place, but quite odd. Worth admission? Yes, and it got us out of the car for a few hours.

My son and I made the trip to Santa Cruz to visit this place (on our way to Monterey, so it wasn’t far out of the way). It was a hoot! Most of the stuff can be easily explained by manipulating the slope of the floor in relation to what the visual cues would suggest. There was one thing, though, that can’t be explained by gravity (the pendulum). I’m still a bit freaked out by that one. :D

After hearing the guide mention the theory about an alien space ship, my son and I decided that the place is all wonky because there’s a Tardis buried somewhere nearby. ;) It was fun, and we both enjoyed it, but I agree with others who’ve said it’s not worth making the focal point of your trip – it’s a quick side trip, nothing more.

this place totaly triped me out. there is no explaination for what happens there. it just happens there! it was nuts.

It’s definately amusing for $5. The fact that they charge anotheR $5 for parking is a bit much though.

The house/tour itself is only about 15 minutes long, its basically 2 rooms in a tiny cabin. They are all done with different tricks of gravity and such. Any student of engineering or physics will definately get a kick out of it.

I went with a foreign friend who was visiting, accidentally revelaed one of the tricks, to which the tour guide jumped on quickly and had a well rehearsed response to it. Rather amusing.

This place is a fun novelty. It takes maybe 20 minutes for the tour. Longer if you get people that are amazed by the “mystic” powers of the land. But please don’t make this your main destination for the day, you’ll be dissappointed. Most times there isn’t much waiting. The funny thing is that they have this crazy long waiting area that snakes back and forth like it’s a major roller coaster at Six Flags! I highly doubt anyone has ever had to wait in that zig zag.

Its just one of those places you have to visit. Suspend your disbelief & have fun. It make me think of the old roadside attractions of the 50’s – though I was never alive in the 50’s, its what I imagine them to be. This place is a kick.

It was kind iof hard to find… we thought maybe that was thee mystery, but it was actually quite cool!!

Not worth it. All those windy roads just to look at a couple of crooked huts that the guide will tell you is the result of magnetism from meteors that crashed onto that cliff some years ago. Right.
