The National Gallery

I definitely think this museum is worth visiting for tourists but also recommend it to locals. I often just go in for half an hour or so when I need a break. It’s a really great place to get relaxed and be inspired.

I still can’t decide if Uffizi (Florence) is better than the National Gallery in London.
However, I saw some of the best painting existing…
I visited it THREE TIMES!!
It’s really huge and with the audioguide (English, unfortunately Italian one was only for some paintings) it took a lot of time!
But I’d come back to see it again!! :D

I didn’t see everything due to my limited time in London, but I got to see a lot and if I had a little more time, definitely could have gone through the entire museum without a problem. I did make a point to see some important works such as Leonardo’s Virgin of the Rocks.
When I was there, the Olympics were still playing and they had a large screen TV out front with them playing.
Admission to the museum is free, which is a huge bonus since London is so expensive!

A wonderful but huge collection of paintings throughout the ages that is completely free to visit!

I love the National Gallery. The amount of works on display there is absolutely staggering. Even if art is not your cup of tea, there will be something to your liking. Best of all the entrance is free so you can spend a full day or just half an hour there, with no pressure to make the most of it in one go. Don’t forget to drop a few coins in the donation box though, that’s how it can keep going.

Just never happened to make it inside…too busy looking at everything on the outside!!! Ahhh well, have to try and get in the next time around I suppose…
