I really enjoyed visiting this place. Often when you visit these sort of places they can be quite boring, but our beefeater was really funny and was really interesting to listen to. There is a lot to do here, i would particularly recommend looking at the crown jewels, but if you have time its worth exploring every building

A tip I have about this place

The Tower of London is of course one of the most interesting place of the city.
And it surely has a lot of history inside.
But, well, I couldn’t see it at all!
Too many people!!
I couldn’t move!!!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I was there in 1996, and it was amazing to just wander around freely, not like those tours, that make you walk as part of the herd. The history, the walls, just an amazing piece of history, that is so accessible. This was a highlight of our trip to England…

Why I recommend this place to visitors

The walls are just soaked in history. I never knew that the Tower was also used a royal palace – at school, we knew it primarily as the place where people were sent to be imprisoned and usually executed. Even if you don’t go inside, do go and admire it from the outside!

A review of this place

I say worth visting though it should be noted I didn’t actually go inside—my friends did. It’s quite expensive when figuring the total up in dollars, especially on the 9th day of your trip when money is getting tight, lol ;).

The outside is quite lovely (as is the surrounding area). The history is worth exploring even if it’s only from the other side of the walls.

I’ve only ever been to the tower of london once and i was very small. I remember loving it if not being slightly scared by it. Since then I’ve wanted to return to get a proper look—its very expensive though.

Worth visiting even if, as an American, you pay $33… I went on my birthday with a boy I had [had? have…] a major [one-sided] crush on. Nothing says romance and happy birthday like torture and death, right?

A very awesome place, though. Maybe not as great as other places in London since you have to pay so much [and the museums are, uh, free…], but the history here… brilliant.

armory

it was really interesting to see all the armory but even more interesting to my date was the pack of japanese school girls who stood giggling at the guards. i think i came away with more pictures of them than the tower of london.
the ravens are huge and apparently foul-tempered :)
in one of the towers, a bored inmate literally carved his name into the wall. i put my fingers on his name and imagined how alone and desperate he must have been. how long he must have been there in order for that to occur.

I loved it here.

Castles are always lots of fun, and there was so much to see at the Tower of London! I really enjoyed the time I got to spend here. The weaponry was amazing, and so was the vast history of the whole place. Be prepared to walk up and down lots of tiny spiral staircases!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

We visited in 1992. It’s a tourist site that is really worth the time and hype. The castle complex is amazing. It was raining when we were there, which added to the atmosphere.

Everything was great, but I liked all the armor. The last portion of the tour featured rows of armor and weapons. I can’t remember the exact century the weapons dated from, but I want to say 16th and 17th.

Very cool.
