I really enjoyed visiting this place. Often when you visit these sort of places they can be quite boring, but our beefeater was really funny and was really interesting to listen to. I was there in 1996, and it was amazing to just wander around freely, not like those tours, that make you walk as part of the herd. The history, the walls, just an amazing piece of history, that is so accessible. This was a highlight of our trip to England…

The walls are just soaked in history. I never knew that the Tower was also used a royal palace – at school, we knew it primarily as the place where people were sent to be imprisoned and usually executed. Even if you don’t go inside, do go and admire it from the outside!

I say worth visting though it should be noted I didn’t actually go inside—my friends did. It’s quite expensive when figuring the total up in dollars, especially on the 9th day of your trip when money is getting tight, lol ;).

The outside is quite lovely (as is the surrounding area). The history is worth exploring even if it’s only from the other side of the walls.

I’ve only ever been to the tower of london once and i was very small. I remember loving it if not being slightly scared by it. Since then I’ve wanted to return to get a proper look— its very expensive though.

Worth visiting even if, as an American, you pay $33… I went on my birthday with a boy I had [had? have…] a major [one-sided] crush on. Nothing says romance and happy birthday like torture and death, right?

A very awesome place, though. Maybe not as great as other places in London since you have to pay so much [and the museums are, uh, free…], but the history here… brilliant.
