I spent 6 years here. It’s a wonderful town, although I didn’t realize it at the time.

Went to the University of Virginia many (too many to count) years ago. Being in Charlottesville was one of the best aspects of going to school there. I especially loved the fall with the leaves turning color.
The hilly topography was also great because it gave such great views.
If visiting don’t forget to go to Monticello (Jefferson’s home) too!

My boyfriend lives in Cville… I’ve found it a neat town. It’s definitely better than Blacksburg, VA (home of Virginia Tech) as far as cultural opportunities and restaurants go. It’s also only 2 hours from Washington, DC.

Just a short drive away from my hometown, this place is gorgeous in the fall and in the spring. Lots of historic stuff, ie: monticello, if you’re into that sort of thing. Definitly a hipster town. UVA kids schmuck it up, but just pop a few collars and you’re good to go.

used to go to charlottesville on shopping trips with my parents when i was young, great memories. my hubby and i care for an elderly lady, and sometimes we housesit for her daughter in charlottesville. these trips are always mini vacations for us, there is so much to do in c-ville, delicious food, great shopping, music, all kinds of stuff…we drive around in our friends saab, just checking out beautiful c-ville, and chill at the house munching on great food, drinking good beer, and watching the tube…ah, my perfect little retreat. it feels like a second home to me now. i love love love this town, people are great, would absolutely love to live here.

Well, I visited here years ago (friends lived nearby) and the town was very ‘quaint’. Lots of “antique” stores selling 19th americana. I have vague memories of lots of lace.
One thing I did do (why..?) was go into a bakery and get their pecan pie. For some reason I told the lovely girl there that their pie was “famous” and that it had appeared in a guide book. I bought 2 pieces.
complete flannel from me but the pie was delicious and both pieces were very large.
If you ever go I suggest also remarking on this as it was a spontaneous fib by me but made her very happy, and that don’t happen every day. And now, my fib is kinda true….
