Worth visiting!
My sister was in the hospital in Pittsburgh, so my boyfriend, me, her boyfriend, and her took her out on a day pass to visit both the Natural History and Art Museum. It was educational, fun, and brought us closer together.
We went on the day of the Great Race, so that is what inspired my goal!
You’ll have a great time there!

but I spent a lot of time here on Saturdays after art class in the adjoining art museum was over. In fact, we often came to the Natural History exhibits during art class to sketch. When I was young, I was fascinated by the Egyptian mummies and the dinosaur skeletons, especially Tyrannosaurus Rex. I’d like to go back again someday and see if it has changed very much from what I remember.

I’m a volunteer teen docent at the museum—the program is great and the museum is too, if you know where to look! If you have any little kids, bring them for all of the fun and interactive activities on Saturdays. The travelling exhibits are the best, though I am partial to the hall of rocks and minerals.
Our biggest problem now is that a lot of the museum is under construction-so far we’re renovating Polar World, the hall of rocks and minerals, and our biggest draw-the dinosaurs. If you’re itching to visit, wait until they bring the dinos back in 2008. I hear the new exhibit is worth the wait!

go to the andy warhol museum or the carnegie science center instead if you just want to go to one. if not, this would be an alright place to go.

there are a LOT of stuffed animals here. I thought it was a little creepy, but it’s worth seeing if you are in the area. It’s attached to the art museum, which I prefer.
