Kwik-E-Mart

The Simpson’s promotion is over. It looks like I’ll never be able to actually visit this place, so I’m removing it from the list.

I was driving a friend to LAX last summer and ran across the Kwik-E-Mart, it was on Washinton I think… In any case, there were LOADS of people there! Naturally we had to buy Squishees and pink frosting and sprinkled doughnuts. :)

I guess it’s a pretty big deal to some people…there were some people from Boise Idaho there who had flown to Denver just to see it…arrived this morning…leaving this afternoon…

Of course I bought some goodies…...

I got a text message from my daughter a few days ago. She was visiting a friend in Denver. The friend lives next door to the Kwik-E-Mart there.

She popped in for a visit and bought a Squishee, some Buzz Cola, and four boxes of Krusty-O’s. I talked to her about it on the phone. She was very excited to say the least.

Now if they could only work out a deal with McDonalds or Burger King to change their name to Krusty Burger. On the plus side, neither chain would have to make substantial menu changes to fit the new name. On the down side though, people might get confused since the name would be such a good fit.

The only thing missing would have been a sign with Apu’s picture by the magazines saying, “this is not a reading library.”

I would totally recommend visiting a Kwik-E-Mart to anyone who is a huge Simpsons fan! The 7-11 I went to in Burbank, CA is completely remodeled to look exactly like a Kwik-E-Mart from the cartoon show. I think they are only going to stay that way for the rest of this month. A lot of the Simpsons stuff was already sold out when I went there, but I did get to try the Squishee and the pink donut. They were both Mmmmm!

Since The Simpsons movie is going to be released on July 27, 2007, several 7-11s in US ciites have been transformed into Kwik-E-Marts! There are two located in the LA area, so I’m going to try and visit one of those before they turn back into a regular 7-11. Some of the products they are selling there are Squishees, KrustyO’s Cereal, Buzz Cola, and the pink donut. I wonder if they are going to sell Duff Beer too?
